I managed to capture this morning’s smoothie on camera (i.e., I remembered to take a picture before I drank it all). I was so excited to have actual (okay, actual approximate) quantities, I forgot to monitor the amount of liquid. This one is worth trying if you like chocolate. There’s something about chocolate that pairs well with swiss chard.
The peanut butter here is more for texture than flavor. If you want more peanut butter flavor, just add more (1 T or so) to taste.
- 2 c baby swiss chard, loosely packed
- 1 heaping T natural peanut butter
- 1 heaping T Dutch processed cocoa powder
- about 2 c coconut or almond milk (I actually used a mixture because I was low on almond milk)
- 2 frozen bananas, sliced
- dash of vanilla extract
Put all the ingredients in a high speed blender, and blend until smooth.
Add 1 c crushed ice. Blend again.
I stirred in a teaspoon of ground flax at the end for fiber.
Enjoy your chocolate frosty!
